Etienne M. Gagnon's BiographyHis research activities evolve
primarily around runtime systems, including the Java virtual machine,
and around tools for code generation and compilers. He is
interested in the specification and implementation of object-oriented
languages, and related problems (system portability, efficiency,
profiling, dynamic analysis and optimization). He also likes to
integrate software engineering concepts into traditional compiler tools
to make them more robust and accessible. His research program received financial support: an Eclipse Innovation Grant from IBM,
a New Opportunities Fund
grant from
the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), an individual research grant and an equipment grant from the
Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Coucil of Canada (NSERC), and
a new researcher grant from
PAFARC at UQAM. |
