Your old friend and protégé Hagrid, riding Sirius Black's flying motorcycle, retrieves little Harry from the wreckage of the Potters' home and brings him to you. You need to find a home for Harry. His mother's sacrifice has given him a magical protection: Voldemort cannot harm him as long as he is living with blood relatives. But his only living blood relative is Petunia Dursley, and the Dursleys are Muggles who hate the whole wizarding world. They would not be pleased about having Harry dumped on their doorstep, and they would be likely to make his life miserable. There are many wizarding families who would gladly take Harry in, especially the Weasleys, who have a son Ron who is about Harry's age.
